Truth Banner

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth.

Psalm 60:4 (KJV)

I’ll admit that I didn’t know this verse even existed before April of this year. But I’m glad God put it in the Bible! It’s a cool reminder.

God has given people who fear and serve and love Him a “banner” to display. What does it say–“I’m a Christian,” “I serve God,” “I’m a child of the King”? I don’t know, but it should say something like that! Our lives should shout about Who we serve and Whose we are!

And that phrase “because of the truth”–there are so many truths that give us a reason to “show-and-tell.”

The truth is, you are loved by God.

The truth is, you can be free from the chains of sin.

The truth is, you don’t have to fear.

The truth is, your debt’s been paid and you don’t have to work your way into heaven (not that it’d work anyway).

The truth is, you’ve been forgiven and no longer have to hide in shame.

The truth is, you are alive because Jesus died.

The truth is, you are held and helped by the Creator of the universe.

The truth is, your God is bigger than sin, doubt, darkness, grief, sickness, job loss, struggles, confusion, roller-coaster emotions, yes, even bigger than death.

Display your banner.

Because of the truth.
