Tomorrow

How tomorrow moves
I do not know–
always coming, never going,
and somehow not quite arriving.
We long for tomorrow–
Tomorrow will be better, we claim–
but tomorrow never gets here:
One moment we say “tomorrow”;
the next, it’s “today”.
And why do we think
tomorrow will be better?
Perhaps it’ll be worse.
And how do we know we won’t die
before tomorrow becomes today?
My feeble human mind
cannot comprehend tomorrow,
and perhaps the more I consider
the less I understand!
But this I know and believe:
God Almighty fully knows
how tomorrow moves.

Hi, I'm Julie, a 17-year-old lover of books, music, and Jesus. I'm finishing up my junior year in high school (Abeka Academy) and have been blogging for two and a half years. I also co-publish a digital magazine called Priceless geared toward teen girls. My desire is to use my words to glorify my Saviour and to encourage you in your walk with God. I'd love to hear from you!
