“Show us the Father,” they cry.
“We want to see, we want to know.
Show us who He is, what He’s like.
Let us see Him as He is.
Tell us about Him.
Show us! Show us the Father!
We want to see Him; that’s all we want.
Once we see Him, once you’ve shown us,
Then we’ll be content.
The ache in our souls will finally be soothed,
The hole in our hearts filled up.
Show us! Show us the Father!
You are His child, so you say,
So look like Him;
Be like Him. Show us
His love, His joy, His grace,
His forgiveness, His peace–
Show us! Show us the Father!
See us through His eyes,
Touch us with His hands;
Let His love flow through you,
His peace surrounding like a blanket.
Offer your shoulder as if it were
His: strong, supportive, kind.
Show us! Show us the Father!
If you don’t, how will we ever know?
We want to know–help us know Him.
We want to experience
The blessings He gives,
The healing only He brings.
Show us! Show us the Father!”
