You made a solemn promise to David, when you said, “I, the Lord, promise that someone in your family will always be king.”
Psalm 132:11 (CEV)
“I, the Lord, promise…”
“I promise I’ll never leave you.”
“I promise I’ll make a way for you to be with Me.”
“I promise I’ll take care of you.”
“I promise I’m preparing a place for you.”
On and on and on.
Imagine! God of the universe–holy, powerful, greater than we could ever fathom–saying to us weak, dirty, constantly-failing humans, “I promise.”
And you know what’s even more awesome? He always keeps His promises! Never, ever, ever will He break or forget a single promise! He won’t fail us or let us down because He is faithful and good (and so many other things).
He promises and He comes through on His promises. Never once has He messed up.
So why fear? Why doubt? Why worry about what might happen or wonder how you’re going to get through this?
“I, the Lord, promise…”
